Funeral / Bereavement

“Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God still, and trust in me.  There are many rooms in my Father’s house; if there were not I should have told you.  I am going now to prepare a place for you, and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; so that where I am you may be too.”

Holy Name of Mary Parish Community offers our prayers and sympathy to you at the death of your loved one.  We would like to be a support to you through this difficult time.

The Catholic liturgy always provides courage and comfort for those mourning the death of a loved one.  However, the more the family, relatives and friends actively plan and participate in the bereavement ceremony itself, the deeper will be the consolation, strength and healing.  For this reason, the Church encourages families to become involved in the planning of the funeral.  You may select hymns and readings for the service, and if you choose, you may write the Prayers of the Faithful (the petitions or general intercessions).
