Children are dismissed during the Liturgy of the Word in order to hear and discuss the readings at their level in a school classroom. Children return for the Liturgy of the Eucharist in church. Each session is conducted by two wonderful catechists sharing their love of the Lord and scripture. Parents are welcome to attend with their child if they would like to see what we do. Questions? Prayer Shawl
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is an outreach of compassion by a large group of Holy Name parishioners, who knit or crochet shawls, lap blankets or wearable items. While these are being created, they are prayed over, hoping that their recipient will find God’s mercy, comfort and support woven within the wrap and weave of the fabric itself. Prayer shawl ministries have been created within many parishes and faith expressions, and is a rapidly growing movement, especially here. The shawls are presented, usually by our priests, to anyone who needs consolation, comforting or healing – such as those in nursing or retirement homes, recently bereaved, those worried about absent family members in the military, those who are diagnosed or experiencing serious illness, and those who are feeling abandoned and lonely for any reason. It is a wonderful way for our parishioners to involve themselves in the outreach life of the parish, and to express their deep belief in the healing power of love and prayer. We also lovingly accept monetary donations and yarn donations. For more information contact: Brenda Luna at (909) 599-1243 ext 137 (Liturgy and Ministries)
