Leadership Agreement/Guidelines

Ministering with others is a gift aimed to enrich others and indirectly ourselves.  Leading a ministry at Holy Name of Mary happens in two levels.  The first of these is to help advance our HNM Mission by nurturing fellow members of a ministry to grow in their relationship with Christ and others.  Secondly, to empower members, in particular a fellow co-chair, in both the exploration and the development of his or her own call toward ministerial leadership.

To nurture members:
  • Leading by example, in and out of church, particularly by availing myself of ongoing adult faith formation opportunities provided within the parish and archdiocese;
  • Remembering that ministry is about people, not merely projects;
  • Providing a clear vision and hope in achieving the ministry’s mission, goals, projects, and events;
  • Listening and being open to new voices for the ongoing life of the ministry;
  • Working with your Parish Council representative to grow in your understanding of the breadth of our parish life; and
  • Providing opportunities for your members to receive continued spiritual and ministerial formation.

To empower co-leaders:
  • Remembering we are called to community and need to model it to the ministry members;
  • Being clear about one another’s roles within the ministry leadership;
  • Being sensitive to each other’s gifts and abilities;
  • Considering the goals and mission of the ministry, leaders are encouraged to mutually formulate a set of goals, timelines, and expectations;
  • Participate in ongoing faith formation opportunities provided within the parish and archdiocese.

    Leadership Agreement

    I,
    in a spirit of thankfulness and openness of heart agree, to the best of my abilities to exercise the role of co-leader as expressed by both members of the HNM
    ministry, and our Pastor.  I do this in consideration of, and agreement with, the ministries’ mission, goals, objectives, and guidelines.  I will do this by nurturing and empowering fellow ministry members and leaders to exercise their call to serve Christ, the Church, and the Holy Name of Mary community.
