REFLECT – As shared by the author…
ACT
Write down the qualities you would want your children to use to describe your relationship. Keep this as a reminder to assess what to do more of and where to realign. May this encourage you in your parental mission to “tend to your whole child: body, mind, spirit, and soul.”
PRAY
Dear Lord, thank you for entrusting me to be a parent. Please strengthen me in the areas where I need to be strengthened. Help me to continue to recognize and discover the gifts you have given me, so that I may love you more and more with all of my body, mind, spirit, and soul, and share this love with my child(ren).
Spend time in silence reflecting on His word about providing abundant grace. What comes to mind as you read these passages? Where is God leading you as you reflect?
2 Corinthians 9:8
Moreover, God is able to make every grace abundant for you, so that in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work.
2 Corinthians 12:9
…but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me.
LOOKING AHEAD
Please read Chapters 6-8 for the next Parent Sessions occurring the second full week of January.
